In this talk, Lizzie outline her dream scenario for web content. A page that you can toggle to have the information presented as:
• text, with high readability, as in GOV UK
• infographics and images conveying meaning, with minimal text
• video
• audio – read by a real human
• text but larger font
• text, in Easy Read
This supports people with visual challenges, motor challenges, cognitive challenges, dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, other neurodiversity-related challenges, and low literacy. It also caters to personal preference! Some people love video content, others get easily bored by it.
Lizzie will demonstrate mock ups of the same content presented in the ways bulleted above and explain how different modes of presentation are helpful to different user types.
