What we learned from analysing hreflang networks from 1.9m websites

Brighton, October 2025

There's something for everyone to takeaway from this talk, from those starting out in their careers to vets working on mega sites.

Hreflang is often a complicated aspect of international SEO, and since the Hreflang tool was deprecated from Google Search Console it's become even harder.

A couple of years ago, we analyzed Hreflang networks across 18,000 websites to identify common errors and trends to really understand how scaled issues are - this time, we've looked at 1,954,896 websites with Hreflang implemented to really understand how brands globally are targeting different markets, trends, and how to resolve these issues.
