Regex can make a lot of Looker Studio tasks much easier. In the first part of this talk, Jess will take a quick walk through the regex matching expressions available in Looker Studio and how they can be used, for example in matching for efficient CASE-WHEN statements and the use of regexp_replace to create new, neat and clean custom variables.

In the second part, Jess will show some of the most frequently used entries in the reference list of regular expressions we maintain as a reference for Looker Studio. Some of these are designed to help you extract parts of a URL, aggregate dimensions and metrics, neatly extract parameter components, and create smarter filters. Attendees can take our regex reference and use it to start their own.
