Laura Valdes is the Founder, CEO, and Lead Linguist of Valdes Language Services, a woman-owned, San Diego-based agency, which was a 2025 Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics finalist.

The daughter of Colombian immigrants, she is also New Yorker who moved to San Diego almost 10 years ago.

With over 16 years of experience, her company offers services in more than 20 languages and empowers multilingual and Deaf communities by helping community-focused organizations and mission-driven companies achieve inclusive, high-impact communication through high-quality translation and interpretation, resulting in stronger trust, higher engagement, and better access to services for the communities they serve.
