Martin Splitt, a Developer Relations Engineer in Zurich, somehow convinced Google to let him join the Search Relations team. He spends his days wrangling JavaScript, deciphering cryptic direct messages about technical SEO problems, and explaining SEO to humans (a truly baffling species). He's basically a web whisperer, but instead of talking to websites, he tries to help people get theirs to show up in Google Search.
When he's not battling weird JavaScript APIs, calming panicked SEOs, Martin can be found exploring the depths of the internet (and occasionally, actual depths, thanks to his scuba diving hobby). He's fluent in several languages, including JavaScript (sort of), Cat, and Meme. He firmly believes that the best way to learn about JavaScript frameworks is to not use them. You will probably invent one that way.
You can often find him on the Google Search Off the Record podcast, where he and his colleagues bravely attempt to demystify the magic of search (and occasionally just make each other laugh). If you see him in the wild, feel free to say hi – but be warned, he may talk to you about JavaScript.
