"We don't sponsor many events because we're selective about where we invest. For us, brightonSEO is the destination for the search industry. If you work in search, you know brightonSEO."

Tell us a little about your agency. What do you do, and who do you help?

Reflect Digital is a behaviour-led search agency. We help brands improve the performance of their marketing by understanding not just where people search, but why they search. By combining behavioural science with search expertise, we help businesses reach the right audience, at the right time, on the right platform, with the right message. As search continues to evolve, our focus is on helping brands become discoverable wherever decisions are made.

What made you decide to sponsor or exhibit at brightonSEO? What were you hoping to get out of it?

We've sponsored brightonSEO for many years because, quite simply, it's the search conference. There really isn't anything else that compares.

On a personal level, I've been attending since 2011, around the time I started Reflect Digital, so I've seen first-hand how the event has grown while maintaining its incredible sense of community.

The quality of the programme is consistently outstanding, but what makes brightonSEO special is the people. Whether someone is completely new to search or has decades of experience, everyone feels welcome and part of the conversation. Sponsoring allows us to be part of that community while reinforcing our position within the industry.

What stood out most about the event?

Without question, it's the atmosphere.

Everyone is genuinely passionate about search and curious about where it's heading next. There is an openness that you don't often find at conferences, with people sharing ideas, experiences and lessons learned without holding back.

brightonSEO also does an excellent job of keeping talks educational rather than sales-driven, even for sponsors. That creates a space where people can explore new ideas, challenge assumptions and form their own opinions, which is incredibly valuable.

Did sponsoring brightonSEO help you meet the right people?

For us, sponsorship is less about generating conversations at a stand and more about long-term brand building. We don't exhibit with a booth, so our objective is different.

Having our brand alongside some of the best people and businesses in search helps reinforce our position in the market. It gives us the opportunity to share our perspective on where search is heading and demonstrate the work we're doing to help clients navigate that future.

Over time, that visibility has absolutely translated into meaningful relationships and new business.

Did you see any tangible results from sponsoring?

Absolutely, although not always immediately.

One of my favourite examples goes back around five or six years. Following one of our sponsored talks, someone downloaded our presentation using a personal Hotmail email address. At the time, we had no idea who they were.

They continued engaging with our content, attended our own events and stayed connected with us over the years. Eventually they moved client-side and invited us into a pitch process. We won that pitch, and that organisation has since become our largest client, with the relationship expanding across multiple brands within their group.

It's a perfect example of why we see sponsorship as a long-term investment rather than a short-term lead generation exercise. You rarely know which interaction today will become your biggest opportunity several years from now.

How does brightonSEO compare with other events you've sponsored or attended? What makes it different?

We don't sponsor many events because we're selective about where we invest.

For us, brightonSEO is the destination for the search industry. If you work in search, you know brightonSEO.

We also make the most of being there beyond the sponsorship itself, hosting lunches and evening events so we can spend quality time with clients, prospects and industry peers. That combination of an exceptional conference and an engaged community makes it unlike any other event we attend.

Has sponsoring brightonSEO changed the way people see your brand?

I believe it has.

Being consistently visible at brightonSEO has helped increase awareness of Reflect Digital and reinforced our credibility within the industry. Having our name associated with the event, particularly alongside the main stage, positions us amongst the organisations helping shape the future of search.

It's difficult to measure perception directly, but we've certainly seen increased recognition over the years, and we're confident our long-standing partnership has played an important role in that.

Would you sponsor brightonSEO again? Why?

Absolutely, and thankfully, we already are!

For us, brightonSEO isn't simply an event sponsorship. It's an investment in our industry, our community and our long-term brand. It's where the search community comes together, and we're proud to continue being part of it.
