Pitching to speak at brightonSEO, Hero Conf or MeasureFest
Whether you’re a seasoned conference speaker or you’ve never stepped onto a stage before, brightonSEO is committed to showcasing fresh voices alongside well-known names. Some of our most memorable talks have come from first-time speakers with something valuable to share.
If you have in-depth, practical insight, real-world experience, or a new perspective that could help our audience level up, we want to know about it.
By completing our speaker pitch form, you’ll:
- Let us know you’re interested in speaking at future events
- Share a bit about your background and expertise
- Get on our radar for upcoming line-ups
We don’t run a formal pitch process, but we carefully review every submission. If your idea feels like a good fit, we’ll be in touch when we’re curating our next programme.
We usually start shaping the line-up around six months before each conference and confirm speakers about five months ahead of the event.
Most importantly, we actively welcome pitches from people of all backgrounds, industries, and experience levels. We’re always working to bring a broad mix of perspectives to the stage — and that includes creating space for new and emerging voices.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to put yourself forward, this is it.

WHEN PITCHING YOUR TALK IDEA
- We need you to provide a title for your proposed talk, avoiding vague areas of expertise like 'social media marketing' or 'link building'.
- We also need a description of what your talk will cover and for you to include who would be the ideal audience for your talk and what they would take away from attending. Tell us what the audience will take home and implement.
- Pitch one idea at a time - send over as many pitches as you have ideas!
** Please note we only get back to successful speakers, we never fully decline a talk, we invite speakers in waves and like to have options in case slots open up nearer the event, we also roll forward pitches to future events, this means you may not hear back from us if you are unsuccessful**
GENERAL ADVICE TO CONSIDER BEFORE PITCHING YOUR TALK IDEA
Make your talk actionable - Our audience always asks for practical how-to information our attendees can learn from. The perfect outcome from a talk is a list of tasks for an attendee to add to their to-do list, tools to investigate and books to read.
Avoid the basics - While there are some beginners in the audience, it is best to avoid general or basic, obvious tips or theorising on abstract subjects. Our audience is not new to the digital marketing field.
Don't pitch self-promotional talk ideas - "how to use our tool" or "here's our great client results" won't appeal to our audience.
Use relevant & timely research data - If you're able to include the results of a study or some research, you should. This will help the likelihood of us programming your talk.
Be authoritative - the speaker must 'know' their subject and it should be obvious in the delivery. If you don't know the topic inside and out, you might be better to pitch on a different topic.
Keep your topic tight - Our main track talks last twenty minutes, which means you need to have a very tight and specific idea of what you'd like to cover. If in doubt the narrower the topic the better. You can then be detailed in that small area rather than too general.
