From fear to fearless: breaking the code barrier with AI

brightonSEO April 2025

This talk is for anyone who has ever felt intimidated by the almighty dev backlog, everyone who has tried and failed to learn to code (or partially succeeded), and all those who have suffered the dreaded imposter syndrome and been reluctant to push outside their comfort zone as a result.

Lee never managed to learn to code. He admires people that can but, for whatever reason, it never seemed to stick when he tried to learn. What he can do is optimise, and one of the key things he likes to optimise is how he works. For the first time ever, Lee has been able to shave time off his tasks by creating his own scripts (Javascript and Python). To do this he doesn’t have to explain his ideas to someone for whom it’s probably boring to create, he's not at the mercy of the all powerful dev backlog, and he's free to mess it up with no one knowing.

Lee will talk more about the mindset and process that’s required to overcome the barrier to entry to the wonderful world of programming. If you have a problem to solve or an idea that you want to bring to life he will open up a whole new way to get there. Starting with the mindset to take control of your own workflow, to breaking the idea down into simple steps. You’ll cover the journey from inception to completion through iteration and personal empowerment.
